Microblading FAQ
Is it safe? Is it Painful?

As a child, I can remember the women in my family spending hours plucking their eyebrows and filling them in with a variety of cosmetic products until they reached their desired eyebrow perfection. All that work, just to see their beautiful brows smudge and diminish in beauty as the day wore on. Thank goodness we now have better options and can say goodbye to all that effort with short lived results. One of the most popular options is microblading.

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure that enhances the shape and color of your natural eyebrows. Giving one the freedom from daily plucking and enhancing their own brows, simply to see them smudge and fade away by day’s end; a problem enhanced by physical activity, such as swimming and exercise. As with anything new, there are many questions that come to mind as one considers such a procedure. In this blog post, I’ll discuss the most popular questions and hopefully clear up some of the mystery behind this exciting beauty technique.

Is Microblading Safe?

According to Debra Jaliman, MD, a NYC dermatologist, who according to health.com has experienced the procedure first hand, says “It’s a safe and effective procedure when done by someone experienced”, As long as you visit a professional who operates in a sterile environment, you can feel confident in the procedure.

At Lily The Pink, we pride ourselves in providing an OSHA compliant facility and we use only sterile and disposable equipment of the highest quality. Our pigments are made in the USA and are hypoallergenic, non toxic, and contain no fragrance or irritants.

Is Microblading Painful?

Pain differs from person to person. While some clients have actually slept through the procedure others report some discomfort similar to tweezing and waxing. However, all agree a little soreness is minor in comparison to the benefits of permanent makeup.

The best part is that you can go back to work right after the procedure, however, there might be some redness and swelling. Your color over the next 10 days will vary greatly. At first the color will appear 40% darker than the final result and there can also be fading before the pigment heals to it’s true color. Do not be alarmed, this is completely normal. Trust the process.

What Are The Benefits Of Microblading?

  1. First and foremost, microblading cuts the time it takes to get ready in the morning. No longer will plucking and drawing in your brows need to be a part of your morning routine.
  2. Enjoy gorgeous, smudge proof, everything proof, eyebrows that won’t come off at the most inconvenient of times.
  3. Not only is permanent makeup a time saving solution, it is especially beneficial for people who can’t wear traditional cosmetics due to allergies, or other skin sensitivities.

Microblading is perfect for those with an active lifestyle, or for anyone who no longer wishes to endure the daily task of creating a beautiful brow.
